Sell your Ex's items on Carousell #MakeSpaceForLove Campaign
April 04, 2019
Kuala Lumpur, 4 April 2019 – Carousell, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing classifieds marketplaces, recently launched the #MakeSpaceForLove campaign to encourage Malaysians to sell their ex’s items on the platform. An in-app survey was also conducted to understand their users’ post-relationship behaviour and it was discovered that 28% of the 1,926 survey respondents chose to dispose of them.
Whilst disposing of an ex’s articles may have been easy for some, 29.5% of the respondents said they still keep them because of its worth or its sentimental value.
“It is difficult to move on in a relationship, which is why the recent #MakeSpaceForLove campaign was created to encourage Malaysians to sell their ex’s leftovers on our classifieds marketplace as a positive way to move on. By giving it a second chance would also mean giving themselves a second chance,” said Tang Siew Wai, Country Head of Carousell Malaysia.
Most respondents said that they still have clothes (50.9%), jewelry (21.9%), laptop or smartphone (19.4%) and books (19.4%) from an ex.
However, a little over 25% of respondents said they sold them and bought something else with the money they earned. Most treated themselves to a meal (32.2%), others donated the money (21.4%), paid-off debts (17.1%), or went on a holiday (13.8%).
“Decluttering is one the best ways to start afresh. By selling your ex’s leftovers, it provides the item a new owner that would appreciate it and a new opportunity for yourself to move forward in life. We saw the majority of our respondents say they would consider selling it on Carousell, and you’ll see it’s a great way to treat yourself to something special and nicely close off this chapter in your life.” Siew Wai concluded.

DeleteIf I want to get more updates from Carousell, do I sign up their subscription?
DeleteTheres quite a few ways. You can start by downloading their apps, they update their news and other activities under the "Activity" tab. But if its seller/buyer you can follow them like other social media works.
DeleteTrue, its easier to keep track of the sellers that you like and easy to get connected with you buyers by following them...
Deleteyaa gurl need to register first .. hehe then start selling your preloved things
DeleteDo we set the price on our own?
ReplyDeleteyeah, but from my experience as sellers your price should reflect your item la..
DeleteYes, we set our own price.
Deleteand its also important the both parties are happy with the price before any deals been made....

DeleteI would preferred whatsapp chatting system..
Deletehuh? you mean to deal with customers and set the price? But for me their integrated messaging system is better. it is safer because no need to tell your private number and all the messages are stored in their database
DeleteCan we also negotiate with the seller as well?
Deleteya sure... negotiable as much as you can .. mybe the seller kind hearted to give cheapest price for you .. :D
Deleteya we set our own price.. according to the condition of the stuff you wanna sell..
Deleteya set the price by our own.. not carousell decide for us. huhu

DeleteCan we meet up the seller just to check and make sure that the things I paid is good condition before paying the seller?
Deletecan meet up... I personally prefer to meet up for higher priced items. So that buyer can check the item and easier to deliver to them
Deleteya sure can meet up! set the date & day with the seller.. negotiable the price.. hehe then deal nicely with the seller.. i suggest meet the seller to avoid lying happend..
